Jonathan E. Shardlow

Jonathan Shardlow represents commercial landowners, developers, and agricultural businesses in a wide array of litigation and transactional matters involving natural resources, land use and water rights, including the Clean Water Act, CERCLA, CEQA, and NEPA.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Shardlow received his LL.M. in Environmental and Natural Resources Law from Lewis and Clark Law School, held several environmental externships, and was an associate in environmental practice groups in both Northern California and Hawaii.
Mr. Shardlow has extensive experience in advising public and private clients on a wide variety of state and federal environmental laws, as well as providing civil litigation services prosecuting and defending claims brought pursuant to these same state and federal environmental laws. Mr. Shardlow also assists clients with all of the necessary preparation for all documentation required by CEQA and NEPA, including, notices, exemptions, addenda, negative declarations, and environmental impact reports/statements. Specific to private developer clients, Mr. Shardlow provides counsel and litigation services on land use matters involving development impact fees, development agreements and entitlements, subdivision, general and specific plan adoption and amendments, conditional use permits, variances, and zoning issues.
In addition to practicing land use and environmental law, Mr. Shardlow handles a wide range of general civil litigation matters and has experience in all phases of litigation.
